Rest and study
How much is Rest & Study?
£80.00 a day including full board or £400.00 per week. This rate is subsidised by Hawthorne Trust Ltd as a thank you to branch church members for their support over many years.
Fees and funding
What is the cost of Christian Science nursing care at Charton Manor?
The daily room and board rate which includes all meals, drinks and snacks, and laundry service is £105.00. Nursing care is charged at £40.00 per hour.
What if I cannot afford the fees?
We ask that patients contribute only what they can reasonably afford. Grants for the balance may be available from Hawthorne Trist Limited on application.
What is the procedure for applying for a grant?
The Administrator will provide you with an application form which asks you a few questions about your income and outgoings. This information is treated in the strictest of confidence and no member of the Christian Science nursing staff or Board have access to this information.
Declaration of income and outgoings
Why do I have to declare my income and outgoings?
Because Hawthorne Trust is a registered charity. The Trustees of Hawthorne Trust have a statutory obligation to ensure that grants only go to those in need.
What if I have savings? Does that disqualify me from applying for a grant?
Having savings does NOT disqualify you from receiving a grant.
How much do I have to have in savings before I am ineligible for a grant?
It depends on your income and outgoings. Every situation is unique. As a rule of thumb, Charton Manor will want to satisfy themselves that when it is time for you to go home you can continue to support yourself financially in the way you did before coming to Charton Manor.
Length of grant; repayment
How long are grants available for?
The length of grants depends on the resources that Hawthorne Trust has at any given time and is at the discretion of the Trustees of Hawthorne Trust.
Do I have to repay the financial assistance I receive?
No. Should your financial circumstances change you may like to make a donation to Hawthorne Trust which can go towards benefiting someone else in the future.
